This course will teach you how to test websites and applications to make them accessible for all users, including people with disabilities. You will learn why accessibility is important, what the WCAG guidelines are, and how to apply them in real projects.

We will start with the basics of software testing, move into usability and accessibility concepts, and then explore the 5 types of disabilities that accessibility testing addresses — Visual, Hearing, Cognitive, Motor, and Speech.

You will then learn about WCAG principles (POUR), WCAG 1.0 to 2.2 standards, and three conformance levels (A, AA, AAA).

The course is practical and hands-on:

  • You will use 15+ popular accessibility tools like Lighthouse, Axe, WAVE, Pa11y, NVDA, JAWS, Color Contrast Analyzer, and more.
