Description
Welcome to my Udemy course on occupational therapy rehabilitation for the internal hemipelvectomy!
Throughout this course, you will not only be immersed into the occupational therapy profession, but the niche arena of oncology care, as you deep dive into the anatomy of the pelvis, the pathology of pelvic sarcoma, the hemipelvectomy procedure, and the rehabilitation that follows. Additionally, you will follow along on the journey of the doctoral capstone experience at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where we will investigate the available literature on this topic, identify the gaps in OT rehabilitation, and lastly, develop 4 deliverables that will ensure patients are being provided with the best possible care after their internal hemipelvectomy procedure. This course has been developed with a combination of the currently available literature, evidence-based practices, and clinical experience within MD Anderson’s orthopedic oncology department.
At the end of this course, there will be a short 4-question knowledge check to allow viewers to test their learning and understanding of the project objectives. Answer rationales will be provided directly after. Please take this test to the best of your ability. If you take one thing away from this course, I hope it is that you are inspired to make an impact in your own personal and professional ventures. Thank you, enjoy!
